Hair Removal
Hair Removal
An Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy approach to eliminating unwanted hair provides the ultimate treatment solution, "PhotoEpilation." Unlike many other treatment methods, PhotoEpilation leaves your skin looking and feeling smoother and softer.

How does PhotoEpilation work?
Without damaging the surrounding skin, controlled flashes of light penetrate the skin and are absorbed by the hair follicles. The heat damages or destroys the potential for regrowth. Because of the significantly large spot size created by this unique technology, backs, shoulders, abdomens and legs can be treated quickly. Facial areas such as the lip, chin, and beard, can be treated in minutes.

Who are candidates for treatment?
Men, women, and children may be treated with IPL. Treatments can be customized according to your hair color, texture, and body location. Hair of any color —– black, brown, and red –— can be treated. Treatment is effective on all skin types, including dark-skinned individuals of all ethnic origins. To find out if you are a candidate, ask to schedule a consultation.

BOTOX®

Smile, laugh, frown, and make all the facial expressions you want and stop worrying about wrinkles!

BOTOX Before and AfterAfter years of squinting, laughing, frowning, smoking, and worrying, the skin around the eyes and on the forehead will often develop deep lines and wrinkles called "expression lines." A frequent concern is that they often make you look older, tired, or stressed. Until recently, these advanced furrows have been difficult to treat. Now, by utilizing this FDA approved muscle-relaxing agent, expression lines can be significantly reduced.

What is BOTOX®?
BOTOX® is a therapeutic muscle-relaxing agent derived from the bacterium, Clostridium Botulinum. For over a decade ophthalmologists have applied BOTOX® for its original intention, the treatment of blepharospasm. Physicians have utilized BOTOX® for years as a cosmetic treatment to correct visible signs of stress and aging.

How does BOTOX® work?

The contractions and movements of the facial muscles are controlled by signals from the brain. BOTOX® simply prevents the muscle from allowing responses to these messages. As a result, the muscle relaxes and the overlying skin remains unwrinkled and smooth.

What is treatment like?

With a very fine needle, BOTOX® is injected into the specific muscle that is contracting and causing the lines and wrinkles on the face. Treatment is effective, safe, and takes approximately 10 minutes. The pain is a minimal "pin prick" and no anesthetic is required. Immediately following treatment, you may resume regular activities!

Chemical Peels
Chemical Peel - Before and After
Men and women alike share a common desire to have healthy, youthful skin. Exposure to the sun and the elements in combination with adverse living habits contribute to the appearance of our skin. Chemical peels are increasingly popular with those who are unhappy about acne scarring, sun-damaged skin, age spots, freckles, fine lines, rough skin and uneven pigmentation. A chemical peel is not limited to the face, and can be performed on the neck, chest, hands, arms, shoulders, and legs - just about anywhere!

What Is A Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels are topically applied acids that aid in the restoration and rejuvenation of the skin's surface. They create a uniform and controlled shedding of several layers of the skin. Depending on the nature and depth of the peel, a significant number of layers can be exfoliated allowing new growth to be exposed, creating a fresh vibrant appearance.

Who are candidates?
Your skin type and the results you are aspiring to achieve will determine if you are a candidate, as well as which class of peel is most appropriate for you.

What are the benefits of a Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels can enhance your appearance by reducing blotchy and uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, freckling, age spots, sun-damaged skin, and acne scars in a relatively brief measure of time. Chemical peels accelerate the production of new cells. Enjoy fresh smooth skin — immediately after your first treatment!

Clay Peel

The clay peel is a natural fruit acid applied under a clay mask for 30 minutes. This treatment dramatically improves brown spots, sun damage and fine wrinkles. The results are similar to, but more effective than, microdermabrasion treatments.

Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy - Before & After
Pregnancy, prolonged standing, and heredity are the primary causes of unsightly and often painful varicose and spider veins. As we age, more visible leg veins frequently emerge and our existing veins become increasingly noticeable. Spider veins most commonly show up on the legs but can also appear on the face. There is a simple solution to this problem. A sclerosing solution — and a cosmetic procedure called Sclerotherapy!

What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy was developed over 75 years ago and at present is one of the most prevalent treatments for spider and varicose veins. During the treatment, a sclerosing agent is injected into the vein through a tiny needle. Treatment can last from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on the number of veins treated in a particular session. Upon injection, the solution replaces the blood in the vein, generating irritation and corrosion to the walls of the vessel. The body then initiates the natural healing process and the vein begins to decompose, shrink and eventually disappear.

What results will I see?
Gradual improvement will be noticed. Many patients experience 60% to 80% of the treated vessels resolved. During the consultation, you will be advised as to the number of treatments necessary to achieve desired results.

Restylane®

Restylane® is a long lasting cosmetic filler that provides dramatic results for improving the appearance of facial lines, wrinkles and folds. This is a non-surgical solution to soften facial lines and wrinkles, restore volume and fullness to the skin, plump up lips, and fill in scars. Restylane injected into the lips can give back fullness to lips that have receded. The cosmetic results are visible immediately, bestowing you with a more youthful and invigorated look.

What is the treatment like?
Restylane is injected in small amounts under your skin to fill creases, lines, wrinkles or folds. It is also injected around the lip area to create volume, resulting in a more youthful appearance. A skin test is not necessary prior to treatment, so treatment can be performed at any time. In order to optimize your comfort, the treatment area may be anesthetized with a topical cream or anesthetic block. Treatment results are immediately evident.

How long do the results last?

Depending on many factors, such as your lifestyle, age and skin structure your results may last as long as six months to a year or more. You may be required a touch up treatment 2 to 4 weeks after the first treatment to achieve your desired result. Treatment to enhance the lips is reported to last much longer than treatment using standard collagen filler. When the effect of the treatment begins to diminish, you can replenish the area as needed.

How is Restylane different from Collagen?

Restylane has been demonstrated to last much longer than the standard bovine collagen injection. The occurrence of an allergic reaction is extremely rare due to the product's non-animal associated basis. Unlike injectable collagen filler that is made of bovine protein and can cause an allergic reaction in some patients, Restylane is a natural substance, hyaluronic acid, which is a sugar molecule already present naturally in the human body. The hyaluronic acid in Restylane is similar to that found throughout your body, which gives volume and fullness to the skin. It is both biodegradable and compatible with human hyaluronic acid. Because of this compatibility it is not necessary for you to be tested for skin sensitivity.

What can I expect following treatment?

You can resume normal activities following treatment. The most commonly reported side effect has been redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within a few hours or, at most, a day or two. Results are immediately evident. Lines, wrinkles and folds look softer and your skin looks smooth.

Featherlift

Have you ever wished that you could look younger? Have you ever wished that the sagging on your cheeks and neck could be elevated without the pain, complications, and down time of a face lift? Have you ever looked in the mirror and pulled the skin above your cheeks up and wished that it would stay there? If so, it is time to look into the Featherlift.

What is the Featherlift?
As we age, the skin becomes saggy and loose, expecially on the cheeks, eyebrows, and neck. There is now a minimally invasive procedure that can lift and contour the sagging tissues of the face and neck. The Featherlift procedure provides quick neck and face lifting for patients who need only a little or moderate facial rejuvenation. The Featherlift used bidirectional barbed sutures called Aptos threads. These are made out of prolene, a material that is non-allergenic and has been implanted in the body by general surgeons for decades. The Aptos threads have been used around the world since 1999 for lifting of sagging tissues. The barbs of the thread face the center of the thread. When implanted into the skin, the barbs pull and suspend the tissue, maintaining the lift created by the surgeon. As the collagen contracts and heals, the lift is maintained by the threads and the new collagen. Continued increase in lifting may occur for three to six months.

Is it safe?
The Featherlift procedure is much safer and less invasive than traditional face lifts, neck lifts, or eyebrow lifts. Complications are rare, and recovery is rapid.

What areas can be treated?
The eyebrows can be raised. Sagging cheeks and jowls around the mouth can be lifted, and sagging on the neck can be elevated.

How long does the procedure take?
The Featherlift procedure is quick and is performed under local anesthetic and oral or light intramuscular sedation. The procedure itself usually lasts only 30 minutes.

How long is the recovery?
In most cases, there is mild discomfort, bruising, or swelling during the first few days. Patients can usually return to work or other activities in 4-7 days.

How long do the results last?
The threads of the Featherlift stay in the skin to maintain the lift. However, the aging process continues. Cosmetic surgery may turn back the clock but does not prevent the clock from ticking. Additional threads may be added in the future to maintain or improve the lift.

Are you a candidate for the Featherlift?
If you are in good physical condition and emotional health and have realistic expectations, the Featherlift can markedly improve mild to moderate sagging of the face and neck. Persons with moderate to severe sagging still require a traditional face lift, brow lift, or neck lift. Dr. Blose can help you decide if the Featherlift is the best choice in your situation.
